After missing our connecting flight to London in Chicago due to some mechanical issues at DFW, American was extremely helpful and found us a non-stop flight to London Heathrow. We were thrilled until we got there, and realized our bags hadn’t made the trip over with us
All of a sudden, American Airlines was back to being not-so-nice. I think Ashley & I were too tired to really care all that much and we knew they’d come along in due time. So, we headed to our hotel and ended up sleeping most of the afternoon…oops!
The pictures below are from our first full day, which involved a lot of walking and Tube-riding wherever the 75* breeze carried us. We will write everything down tomorrow for you (Ash is keeping her own journal…thanks for the awesome birthday present, Paige!). For now, we are two Strongbow ciders under and definitely tired of living in our airplane clothes. Time for bed!

I hope you guys are having a wonderful time! Despite the fact that you still don’t have your luggage…
Hopefully it will turn up soon (I’ll be praying). Thanks for keeping us all posted!
Very cool idea, your blog! Great photos and looking forward to more as time goes by. The two of you look like two movie stars with the nearly identical shades on a sunny London day along the Thames. Claire, you look like the professional photographer that you are carrying that very capable Nikon camera. Hope your bags catch up with you tomorrow! If not, I’ll give AA another piece of my mind…this time with undeniable emphasis.
these pics are beautiful! great lighting. if you have time, i think heading to the Tate Modern would be fabulous. they have this huge Jackson Pollock piece that i love.
be safe!
Great photos! Cute subjects- know you’re having fun! See you pretty soon and we’ll continue the adventure! XOXO, Mom
Ashley and Claire,
Looks like the weather is treating you right now that you have obtained your bags. As they say it looks shagadelic baby! Hope you are having a wonderful time from here on out. Lookout Lion King.
John just went back to school to get a rec for SMU-no rest for the wicked. He really enjoyed his trip. I think he would move down there if given the opportunity or at least work an intership for a year or two. He returns the 31st to study for the GMAT.
Take lots of pictues for me. Love you so. MOM
